The Argentina international, currently on loan from Juventus at AC Milan, is keen to join Chelsea this month. Blues boss Maurizio Sarri is desperate to land the 31-year-old, who he managed during the pair’s time at Napoli. And according to Italian newspaper Gazetta dello Sport, Chelsea transfer chief Marina Granovskaia has had an offer for Higuain knocked back. They say Granovskaia is yet to make an offer that meets Juve’s demands. Juve are demanding a £48m fee to loan Higuain to Chelsea for 18 months. Gazetta dello Sport say the total will be made up of a £24m transfer fee, as well as Higuain’s £24m in wages. Juve sporting director Fabio Paratici is now said to be waiting on a phone call from Chelsea to see if the Blues will meet their demands. Both Juve and AC Milan have travelled to Saudi Arabia for their Supercoppa Italiana clash. Italian football journalist Tancredi Palmeri claimed this week that Higuain is hoping to force through a move to Stamford Bridge. Higuain [is] forcing his way out from Milan to go to Chelsea,” he said. Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth has also discussed the Blues’ move for Higuain, claiming Granovskaia will ultimately decide.
